SkillSwap is an AI-assisted web platform that aims to make peer-to-peer skill sharing accessible to students and young professionals, as the high cost of formal courses and the lack of accessible mentorship makes many want to learn practical skills directly from peers, but most struggle to find a trustworthy teacher, verify a peer’s ability before committing their time, or arrange a fair and safe exchange. SkillSwap offers an all-in-one solution that employs AI to recommend relevant skill matches, generate structured notes and follow-up practice questions from each session, and verify a teacher’s competency through a short skill quiz before they can list it, while also creating a credit-based marketplace where users can book sessions, swap skills directly with no credits involved, message safely with built-in conduct filtering, and join video calls, all within one platform. SkillSwap differentiates itself from competitors by combining discovery, scheduling, video calling, messaging, AI-personalized learning support, and skill verification into a single unified, easy-to-use experience, as well as utilizing AI and automation to help both learners and teachers get more value out of every session.
