Launching a Sustainable Initiative: Sunway Partnership with Doko Recyclers for Smart Waste Management

We are excited to announce a significant step towards a more sustainable and smart waste management system here at Sunway College Kathmandu. We have partnered with Doko Recyclers to ensure that our waste is managed responsibly, maximizing recycling and minimizing our environmental footprint. This significant step aligns with our global commitment to reduce landfill waste and promote a circular economy within our campus.

🗓️ Weekly Waste Collection

Please note that Doko Recyclers will be conducting pickups every Wednesday. This consistent schedule is key to making this program a success.

✅ Segregate at Source: What to Separate

To make this partnership effective, we need everyone’s commitment to segregate waste at the source. Please use the designated bins to separate the following recyclable materials:

1. 📰 Paper
   • Mixed Paper / Jhura / Egg Crates
     Newspaper / Magazines / Books / A4 Paper
     Carton / Kraft Paper
     Shredding Paper
2. 🔩 Metal
   • Light Mixed Metal / Cans
     Heavy Metal / Iron / Pipe / Rod / Jasta
     Metal-Based Furniture / Paint Cans
3. 🥤 Plastic
   • Mixed Plastic Waste (e.g., plastic bags, wrappers)
     PET Bottles (e.g., water bottles)
     Gallon / Jar / Cosmetics containers
4. 🍷 Glass
   • Beer / Cider / Jam /bottles
     Non-Recyclable Bottles

Note: Please ensure items are clean and dry before placing them in the recycling bins.
