About the Project

In Nepalese colleges, roll-call is performed by taking down marks in physical registers and spreadsheets.It takes up precious teaching time, and students find out about falling below the 75% eligibility criteria only during the last week of examinations when it is too late to rectify the situation. Currently, no existing college ERP helps the student to interpret his/her data. AttendX addresses this problem through a smart attendance system which is a first-of-its-kind mobile application. The teacher takes attendance, and AttendX does all of the other tasks from synchronization of the data, live percentage calculation, updating of the dashboard of the student, and report generation. The key feature of AttendX is the Ask Campus AI which allows students to ask straightforward questions like “Am I eligible for the examination?” and gets a reasonable response by considering their actual
attendance record and college policy in one conversation. The main target audience is undergraduates with additional benefits to lecturers and academic administrators through drastic reduction of manual reporting work. AttendX is coded using Flutter,
Node.js, PostgreSQL, and RAG AI. It was developed and piloted at Sunway College Kathmandu.Through converting mere attendance to an intelligent and available assistant, AttendX ensures students’ eligibility, saves time for employees and proves to be an innovative solution, conforming to UN-SDG 4(Quality Education) and UN-SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).

AI-Based Dementia Companion System (Smart Care & Support Assistant)

About the Project

Care+ (CarePlus) is a privacy-focused, AI- and IoT-powered healthcare assistant that supports home-care provision for elderly people in Nepal. The project addresses the multi-layered problems of language barriers, poor medicine adherence monitoring,
incomplete communication between caregivers, and low trust in cloud-based healthcare platforms, all of which affect elderly patients, caregivers, and family members living overseas. The proposed solution is a companion device based on the Raspberry Pi and a supporting mobile and web application ecosystem. Care+ uses voice-to-text conversion of speech via Whisper, sends the request to a FastAPI orchestration layer, which passes it to a locally-hosted language model, generates a response, and records the intake of medicine, mood, and care events that take place throughout the session. The system also provides near-real-time synchronization of role-based dashboards for doctors, guardians, caregivers, and administrators. The intended recipients are elderly self-reliant and semi self-reliant citizens, guardians and family members who are away from the country, home care nurses
and small healthcare institutions. Development has been executed in an agile and milestones-driven methodology, broken down into the 4 focus areas: Core Communication and AI orchestration, Medical / functional Management, Emotional Analytics / Reporting, and Multi-user Ecosystem / Hardware integration. Medicines reminder scheduling, medicines intake notification, mood logging, caregiver dashboard synchronization and voice interaction are the core features of the MVP. The outcome of the Innovation Project is a working prototype, a clear go-to-market and revenue plan, and a clear roadmap leading up to the deployment of a pilot system in the Kathmandu Valley, making Care+ a locally relevant and scalable contribution to healthcare technology in Nepal for the elderly.

About the project

ResQnova is an AI-powered, Virtual Reality-based learning platform built to solve a real problem in Nepal’s schools: students in Grades 5–10 rarely get to perform hands-on science experiments, because most schools lack proper laboratories, safety measures, or the budget to maintain one. As a result, learners memorize theory without ever experiencing it. ResQnova solves this by letting students step into a fully immersive, curriculum-aligned virtual laboratory where they can safely run Physics, Chemistry, and Biology experiments exactly as outlined by the National Examination Board (NEB). Alongside the VR labs, an AI-powered chatbot (“Nova”) guides students in real time, answering questions and explaining difficult concepts, while interactive 3D visualizations make abstract ideas easier to grasp. The platform is built for students (primary users), with teachers, schools, and parents as key beneficiaries who gain a safe, affordable alternative to physical labs. Powered by Unity-based VR, Google Gemini AI, and a Flask/Supabase backend, ResQnova is the first platform to combine VR, AI tutoring, and NEB-curriculum alignment specifically for Nepal turning theoretical, textbook-only learning into risk-free, practical, and genuinely engaging science education.

Leaf & Life offers an all-in-one solution that employs AI to help identify unknown plants and provide information, recommend plants based on the space and sunlight available, and create a marketplace for local buying, selling, thrifting and swapping plants, while also offering a rewards-based system. Leaf & Life differentiates itself from competitors by combining together a number of services that previously were only available separately and offering a unified, easy-to-use experience, as well as utilizing cutting-edge technology to help both users and local nurseries involved in plant ownership and care.
